Dr Matt Gilks
Matt grew up locally in Cheshire and completed his “A-Levels” at Sir John Deane’s college before studying Biomedical Science in Manchester. It was during this time that he decided to pursue a career in dentistry. After graduating with a first class honours degree in biomedical science he was offered a place at the University of Liverpool to study dentistry.
Since qualifying as a dentist, Matt has completed a plethora of post graduate education to develop new skills to offer more complex treatments for his patients. These include courses in composite bonding, SmileFast composite veneers, as well as a post graduate certificate in orthodontics (teeth straightening) and a post graduate diploma in restorative & aesthetic dentistry. Matt is currently undertaking training in dental implants and plans to offer this amazing treatment for missing teeth in Alsager.
Matt offers all aspects of dentistry including white fillings, dentures, cosmetic braces, Invisalign, veneers, composite bonding, root canal treatment, crowns and more.
Dr James Fokinther
Dr James Fokinther graduated from the university of Glasgow. He has experience in treating a wide range of dental procedures from working in both NHS and private practice in Scotland, volunteering in rural Cambodia and working in private practice in Australia.
James has focused his professional development on aesthetic dentistry and is completing post graduate education in oral surgery and dental implants. James loves working with anxious patients and children, believing that with the right techniques and coaching, anyone is able to have dental treatment carried out in a general practice setting. He works on providing pain free dentistry, creating a pleasant patient experience for everyone and taking time to explain all treatment options available.
