During normal hours (excluding holidays)

If you have a dental problem during our normal opening hours, please call the practice and we will advise you what to do next.

We endeavour to see you as soon as possible. If you call us first thing in the morning then sometimes this will be the same day. If the same day is not available, then our team will offer you the next available appointment.

There is a standard emergency appointment consultation fee which excludes treatment and is £55 (as usual practice plan members will save 20% on this fee).

The consultation fee is charged to cover the professional time and expertise to examine and diagnose. Any treatment recommended will be quoted separately.

“Non-registered” patients

If you have not seen one of our dentists for a health check within the past 2 years, we will deem you to be a “non-registered” patient.

We don’t always have availability to see “non-registered” emergencies, but if you give the team a call we will advise if we have availability or when the next available appointment may be.

The standard consultation fee for a non registered patient emergency appointment consultation (excluding treatment) is £90. The consultation fee is charged to cover the professional time and expertise to examine and diagnose. Any treatment recommended will be quoted separately.

Have a question?

Painkillers in the form of paracetamol and ibuprofen can be taken (if your medical history allows so) to relieve the pain temporarily until you can get an appointment with your dentist scheduled. Give us a ring and we will get you in ASAP.

This depends on your dental disease risk. Your dentist will typically see you anything from 3months-1year. A dentist not only checks your teeth but will also carry out cancer screening.

The British Academy of Paediatric Dentistry recommends that a child go to the dentist by age 1 or within six months after the first tooth erupts. Baby teeth typically begin growing at around 6 months of age.

There are three main ways to do this:

Clean your teeth twice a day – last thing at night and one other occasion, and clean in between them with floss or tepe brushes once a day.

Have a good diet – it’s the frequency of sugars that cause a problem not the amount – so make sure not to snack in between meals and only drink water between meals.

Fluoride – use a fluoride toothpaste contacting 1450ppm fluoride to help prevent decay.
